Environmental Education Internships

The mission of Hartley Nature Center is to provide people with opportunities for understanding, appreciation and stewardship of the natural world. As the area’s only urban nature center, HNC serves over 24,000 people annually, including over 14,000 school children!

With the help of our team of dedicated Environmental Education staff, you'll quickly be on your way to teaching some of those 14,000 in the biggest classroom in Duluth and gaining great experiences to supplement your formal education. And our 600 hour internships pay a stipend to help with student expenses!

Over the years, we've had interns from various schools including: Gustavus Adolphus College, St. John's University, Harvard, Sterling College VT, U-Ill Champagne-Urbana, UW-Madison, UW- River Falls, Northland College, UM-Duluth, UM-Morris, College of St. Scholastica, Macalester College
