Preschool Programs

We have a great and growing selection of outdoor engagement options for you and your pre-schooler. Whether it's a day camp, weekly story-based program, monthly Saturday program, or even a special event, we have something we are sure you and your little one will love.

nature nook

Our weekly get-together that always includes reading a nature themed book, making a craft and taking a short hike. Meet here at 10:00 am and be sure both of you are prepared for the weather. Runs 90 minutes every Monday and Tuesday. See the Nature Nook schedule for upcoming programs.

Cost: $3 for Hartley members and $6 for others.

nature sprites

Meet with us the second Saturday of each month September through May for a true outdoor adventure! Kids and parents start off in the same room, then split up for their own fun. Adults head off with a naturalist to learn ways to share nature with their kids, and the kids stay back for a shorter hike along with games and crafts.

Cost: $4 for Hartley members, $7 for others.

day camps

Join the fun as Hartley now offers camps for the tiny set too. Our pre-school camps are three days, and offer a more in-depth look into the mysteries of the natural world. Offerred winter and summer, they provide age-approporiate activityies and fun. Our next camp begins on June 24th and runs from 10 to 11:30 am. You must pre-register.

Cost: $15 for Hartley members, $20 for others.

Special events

We held our first special weekend event just for little kids this fall, and it was an overwhelming success! Howl-O-Ween was a fall celebration with games, (not very) spooky critter hikes, goodies, and of course lots of treats. More than 100 people joined us for the 2008 version. We expect next year will be just as popular. Keep watching this space for announcements of other upcoming events targeted at pre-school aged children and their families.
