Adult Programs

Not all of our efforts go into entertaining the kids; we teach adults too. If you have any questions about any of the programs listed below, just pick up the phone and give us a call. Most adult programs have a fee; some are free for Hartley members. And be sure to check the events page for programs that are great for adults and kids.

Adult Night Out Our weekly programs delve into a variety of topics from natural landscaping to mushroom identification to scientific studies and much more. Some are suitable for mature children, but all are great for grownups. All programs begin at 7:00 pm and are free for Hartley members. We ask for a $4 goodwill donation from non-members.

Classes and Workshops We sometimes offer one-time or ongoing classes for those who wish to expand their natural horizons. Class sizes, dates and fees vary.

Garden Volunteer Evenings

Garden Nights for 2011 are Tuesdays from 6-8 pm:

June 7& 21, July 5 & 19, August 2 & 16, September 6 & 20

If you have an interest in helping better our beautiful park then here is your chance. Two Tuesday evenings per month we are hosting a volunteer project within our gardens here at Hartley Nature Center and would love to have you join us! Our evenings will be spent in either our Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden or Water Garden weeding, labelling plants, spreading mulch or planting new baby plants. Come to see what's blooming in the gardens, learn about native plant landscaping, get to know your fellow Hartley supporters and enjoy your community-supported nature center. For more information, call Hartley Nature Center at 724-6735.
