"At first people refuse to believe that a strange new thing can be done. Then they begin to hope it can be done. Then they see it can be done. Then it is done and all the world wonders why it was not done centuries ago."

Frances Hodgson Burnett

Greetings

Our green home utilizes renewable energy sources and building materials as well as superior insulation. We are trying to reduce toxins in our home by using materials that have been processed without formaldehyde, do not contain vinyl, have low volatile organic compounds, were processed using less overall energy than their commercial counterparts, and are natural vs. synthetic. We have implemented a water recycling system. Limited exposure to synthetic chemicals will help us to maintain our overall health as well as reduce the potential for Tyler to develop asthma and/or allergies.

Guiding principles:
Smaller Footprint, Simpler Layout
Superior insulation
Energy Efficient Appliances
Air and Vapor Barriers for Tight Construction
Energy Conservation Practices
Limited toxins/synthetic chemicals in home
Locally produced products
